20th National Rozgar Mela: PM Modi Distributes Over 51,000 Appointment Letters to Government Recruits
In an official announcement, the Press Information Bureau reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 20th edition of the National Rozgar Mela via video conferencing on September 19, 2026, where he distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth across various central government departments and public organizations. The nationwide event was held across 45 locations, facilitating direct appointments in key institutions, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Department of Financial Services.
Launched in October 2022, the National Rozgar Mela initiative was designed as a mission-mode recruitment drive to expedite the filling of vacant government posts and empower young job seekers. With the completion of this 20th edition, the scheme has successfully delivered over 12.75 lakh appointment letters across India, exceeding its original baseline goals. Government leaders highlighted that the initiative not only accelerates public service recruitment but also connects youth with structured skill development and public administration career pathways. The event reflects the central government's sustained focus on structured employment generation, public sector efficiency, and youth empowerment for national development.
