7th Global Fintech Fest 2026 Opens in Mumbai Focusing on Agentic AI and Quantum Systems
The 7th edition of the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 officially commenced in Mumbai, running from September 8 to 11, bringing together global technology leaders, central bankers, regulators, and fintech innovators. Organized jointly by the Payments Council of India (PCI), National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), and Fintech Convergence Council (FCC), with support from key government ministries including the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the event underscores India's prominent role in global digital financial infrastructure.
Under the central theme 'Potential to Impact: Agentic AI | Tokenisation | Quantum: Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance', the summit showcases how advanced software and artificial intelligence are revolutionizing financial accessibility. Key focus areas include Agentic AI, which enables financial platforms to sense, decide, and execute complex workflows autonomously within strict regulatory parameters. Discussions also highlight tokenisation for fractional asset ownership and quantum-safe cryptography to protect global banking networks from emerging cybersecurity risks.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India's fintech achievements, noting that the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) now processes over 24 billion monthly transactions and spans 11 countries. The event underscores how digital public infrastructure, combined with cutting-edge artificial intelligence and robust consumer data protection standards, can bridge financial gaps for small businesses and underserved communities worldwide.
