AIFF Partners with AMM Foundation to Strengthen Grassroots Football Pathways Across India
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the A.M. Murugappa Chettiar (AMM) Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday, September 18, 2026, to strengthen grassroots football development across India and create structured pathways for emerging young players. The joint initiative aims to provide expanded opportunities for children to participate in organized football competitions while building a formal talent identification and player progression ecosystem, with an initial emphasis on Tamil Nadu and nationwide expansion.
Under the agreement, the AIFF will support the organization and execution of grassroots tournaments, giving young players regular match practice in structured environments. A core component of the partnership is the implementation of a Talent Identification and Pathway Plan, under which promising prospects spotted during competitions will be monitored and invited to AIFF Talent Winter and Summer Camps to train under experienced national coaches. Additionally, AIFF will conduct specialized talent identification workshops in Chennai for AMM Foundation scouts, training them in evaluation methodologies and scouting standards to build local coaching capacity.
