Allu Arjun and Atlee's 'Raaka' Enters Guinness World Records for Real-Time Motion Capture
The upcoming pan-India science-fiction action film 'Raaka', starring Telugu superstar Allu Arjun and directed by hitmaker Atlee, has made global history by entering the Guinness World Records a year ahead of its planned theatrical release. The production secured the official title for 'Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time' after capturing 37 performers simultaneously within a single session during production in Mumbai. The Guinness World Records certificate was officially presented to lead actor Allu Arjun and director Atlee by Swapnil Dangrikar, Senior Adjudicator for Guinness World Records, at a ceremony following formal adjudication of the September 15 recording session.
Produced by Sun Pictures' Kalanithi Maran, the ambitious sequence required deploying 92 optical motion-capture cameras and developing a custom visual effects pipeline to handle the complex capture volume. The 37 performers captured simultaneously ranged from a 4-year-old child to a 70-year-old veteran actor. Speaking on the landmark achievement, Allu Arjun expressed pride in pushing technological boundaries for Indian cinema on the global stage, while Atlee credited the collective dedication of his visual effects team. The film, which also stars Deepika Padukone as the female lead, is slated for a worldwide release in 2027.
