Apple Unveils First Foldable iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro Series
Tech giant Apple officially unveiled its first foldable smartphone, named the iPhone Duo, during its annual 'Surprise and Shine' hardware event in Cupertino, California. The flagship device features a 7.6-inch inner Super Retina XDR display alongside a 5.4-inch outer cover screen, powered by the new A20 Pro chipset and running on iOS 27. When opened, the iPhone Duo is the thinnest iPhone ever built, incorporating a precision hinge, dual-battery architecture, and custom vapour chamber cooling to sustain high-performance AI tasks via Apple Intelligence. Alongside the foldable model, Apple introduced the flagship iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which feature a variable aperture main camera system with six laser-cut blades for professional-grade low-light photography and cinematic video controls. The event also highlighted the Apple Watch Series 12 and AirPods 5. Interestingly, Apple omitted the base iPhone 18 model from the keynote, deferring its launch to early 2027 to navigate global semiconductor memory shortages and stagger its release timeline.
