BCCI Announces India A Squads for Home Series Against Australia A in Puducherry
The Men's Selection Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the India A squads for the upcoming domestic home series against Australia A. The upcoming tour will be held entirely in Puducherry and features two multi-day red-ball matches followed by a three-match one-day series. The action kicks off on September 22, 2026, providing a crucial platform for top domestic performers and international fringe players to showcase their skills on the red-ball and white-ball circuits.
Karnataka batter Devdutt Padikkal has been appointed captain of the India A multi-day squad, with Tamil Nadu opener Sai Sudharsan named as his vice-captain. The squad includes prominent domestic performers such as Shams Mulani, Tanush Kotian, Tushar Deshpande, Anshul Kamboj, and wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra. Pacer V. Vyshak has also been named in the squad, subject to final fitness clearance.
For the three-match one-day series starting October 6, Maharashtra opener Ruturaj Gaikwad will take over leadership duties, with Padikkal serving as vice-captain. The one-day setup features aggressive top-order batters Priyansh Arya and Rajat Patidar, alongside all-rounder Hardik Pandya, subject to fitness clearance. The series aims to evaluate bench strength ahead of upcoming senior national assignments and provides valuable exposure against high-quality opposition.
