Belkin Debuts Next-Gen Semi-Solid-State UltraCharge Pro Power Banks at IFA 2026
At the IFA 2026 consumer electronics show in Berlin on September 3, 2026, Belkin introduced its latest line of portable charging accessories, headlined by the UltraCharge Pro power banks powered by BoostSolid Cell technology. Marking a significant step forward in consumer hardware, BoostSolid Cell is a semi-solid-state battery architecture that incorporates a specialized gel-like layer alongside a liquid electrolyte. This design innovation allows power banks to be substantially thinner—up to 40% slimmer than traditional liquid-cell predecessors—while dramatically reducing the risk of thermal runaway, swelling, and fire.
The new product series includes the UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic 5K, a credit-card-sized 5,000mAh magnetic power bank priced at $69.99, and a 10,000mAh variant supporting 60W dual USB-C charging priced at $89.99. To maintain safety during heavy usage, Belkin integrated dual analogue and digital heat sensors that monitor internal temperature every 250 milliseconds, automatically cutting power if thermal limits are exceeded. Belkin claims the cells can retain up to 80% capacity after 1,000 charge cycles, extending usable lifespan up to three times compared to conventional external batteries. As power-hungry smartphones and laptops demand safer and more portable energy solutions, Belkin's commercial rollout of semi-solid-state chemistry represents a practical technological breakthrough for mobile device users globally.
