Cisco and NVIDIA Expand 'Secure AI Factory' to Rack-Scale Infrastructure with Supermicro Partnership
Networking giant Cisco Systems has announced a major expansion of its 'Cisco Secure AI Factory with NVIDIA' architecture, joining forces with Super Micro Computer Inc. (Supermicro) to deliver high-density, rack-scale computing solutions for enterprise, neocloud, and sovereign cloud deployments. The announcement addresses the urgent need for scalable AI data center infrastructure capable of handling massive model training and complex inference workloads.
The expanded architecture integrates Supermicro's air-cooled and liquid-cooled server platforms into Cisco's unified enterprise stack. The solution pairs front-end networking built on Cisco Silicon One switches with back-end networking powered by NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet. Designed to operate as a cohesive, single-rack ecosystem, the full-stack architecture simplifies deployment while offering robust security controls, automated provisioning, and data privacy safeguards across clusters ranging from 1,000 to over 100,000 GPUs.
As next-generation AI accelerators generate unprecedented heat and demand megawatts of power per rack, liquid-cooling and unified network management have become essential for enterprise operators. By offering a fully validated, NVIDIA Cloud Partner-compliant design backed by integrated support, Cisco and NVIDIA aim to significantly lower deployment risks and token costs for organizations seeking to build sovereign AI infrastructure and enterprise-grade multi-agent systems.
