CSIR-NIScPR Introduces 'SARAL AI' to Convert Scientific Research into Engaging Videos
The CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) has introduced a new artificial intelligence platform named 'SARAL AI' (Simplified and Automated Research Amplification and Learning). The platform is specifically designed to convert dense, highly technical scientific research papers into interactive, short-form video formats, making complex discoveries understandable to a wider audience.
Developed in alignment with the Indian government's mission to leverage emerging technologies for public science communication, SARAL AI automates text analysis, extracts core findings, and generates rich visual narratives. By bridging the gap between jargon-heavy academic publications and mainstream digital communication, the platform empowers educators, science journalists, students, and policymakers to grasp scientific breakthroughs rapidly without losing technical accuracy.
Officials emphasized that SARAL AI will play a central role in democratizing access to national research output across Indian universities and institutes. By rendering research into multi-language video summaries, the system enhances knowledge dissemination, fosters interdisciplinary scientific collaboration, and encourages youth engagement with STEM disciplines across the country.
