The meeting focused on accelerating self-reliance (Aatma-Nirbharta) in defence information technology and systematically adopting advanced technology enablers into defence operations. Crucial policy deliberations addressed the changing paradigm of modern warfare and the strategic necessity of deploying disruptive digital technologies.
Key decisions taken during the meeting included approving plans for the indigenisation of advanced semiconductor chip manufacturing, the development of a sovereign operating system and database for defence applications, and the strategic siting of robust data centres tailored for national security needs. The approved projects aim to enhance the operational resilience of the Indian Armed Forces while furthering broader national technological capabilities under the government's Viksit Bharat roadmap.
