Dyson Launches CameraJet Smart Toothbrush Featuring Integrated AI Camera and Precision Water Flosser
Technology and appliance giant Dyson has formally entered the personal care and oral hygiene market with the launch of its first smart electric toothbrush, named the Dyson CameraJet. Unveiled internationally, the high-tech gadget aims to reinvent daily dental care by combining mechanical brushing, high-speed fluid cleaning, and computer vision in a single handheld device.
At the core of the CameraJet is Dyson’s proprietary Gap Optical Targeting technology. The toothbrush incorporates a tiny, water-sealed optical camera and sensor array capable of capturing and processing 28 live video frames per second. As the user brushes, the system uses artificial intelligence algorithms to identify gaps between teeth in real time. It then fires micro-jets of water or mouthrinse directly into those interdental spaces to flush out plaque and food debris.
Additionally, the toothbrush connects via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to a dedicated mobile app, allowing users to track their brushing habits, view coverage maps of missed spots, and receive personalized hygiene recommendations. Priced at $499 (approximately Rs 41,000), the device features three customizable cleaning modes and a 30-second quad-pacer timer.
Dyson's foray into smart personal care gadgets reflects a broader industry trend toward AI-driven health monitoring tools in everyday household devices. While its premium price tag positions it at the high end of consumer electronics, industry analysts suggest it signals a major shift toward high-tech preventative wellness accessories.
