GBA's month-long 'Ward One' clean-up drive begins in 43 Bengaluru wards
Road repairs, pothole filling, junction improvements and waste clearance are planned in wards across all five city corporations, with the rest of the city to follow over 30 days.
The Greater Bengaluru Authority began its month-long 'Ward One' campaign on November 1 with an intensive cleanliness drive in 43 wards spread across the city's five corporations.
Civic agencies will repair roads, fill potholes, improve junctions and clear waste from public spaces. Minister Krishna Byre Gowda held a virtual meeting with officials of the corporations, Bescom, BWSSB, BMRCL, KSRTC, traffic police and Railways to coordinate the work.
Wards in the first round include New Thippasandra, Ashok Nagar and Vasanth Nagar in the central zone; Channasandra, Horamavu and Vibhutipura in the east; Nagasandra, Sadashivanagar and Attiguppe in the west; Jakkur, Hennur and Yelahanka New Town in the north; and Jayanagar, HSR Layout, Iblur and Billekahalli in the south.
The remaining wards are to be covered over the next 30 days.
