Health Minister J.P. Nadda Inaugurates 10 Critical Care Blocks and 12 Public Health Labs in Andhra Pradesh
Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda inaugurated 10 Critical Care Blocks (CCBs) and 12 Integrated Public Health Laboratories (IPHLs) in Andhra Pradesh on September 12, 2026. The ceremony took place in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, alongside key legislators and medical officials.
Constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), these newly established facilities aim to bolster life-saving capacity during critical illnesses and enhance early detection of emerging infectious disease threats before they cascade into public health emergencies. The 10 Critical Care Blocks have been established across major government medical colleges and district hospitals, including Kadapa, Nellore, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Ongole, Rajamahendravaram, Kurnool, Vijayawada, Anakapalli, and Hindupur. Nationwide, the Central Government has sanctioned 631 Critical Care Blocks under PM-ABHIM to construct a resilient network for emergency care. During the event, Minister Nadda commended Andhra Pradesh's 'Sanjeevani' doorstep health testing initiative and reiterated the Centre's commitment to creating seamless linkages between primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare across all states.
