Mishap at Yash's 'Toxic' Pre-Release Event in Hyderabad Injures Multiple Attendees
The highly anticipated pre-release event for Sandalwood superstar Yash's upcoming film, 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups,' was disrupted by an unfortunate incident on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Malla Reddy University in Hyderabad, Telangana. During the event, a sound box and speaker system stand collapsed, causing injuries to at least four attendees, including students. One student reportedly suffered a leg fracture, while three others sustained minor injuries.
The mishap occurred when a large crowd of enthusiastic fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the 'KGF' star. According to police officials, some attendees had reportedly climbed onto the speaker stand to get a better view, which led to the structure losing its balance and collapsing. Videos of the incident were also circulated on social media, highlighting the chaotic scene.
Upon witnessing the collapse, actor Yash, who was on stage addressing the audience, immediately halted his speech to check on the safety of the fans and urged others to descend from elevated structures for their own safety. The injured individuals were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Following the incident, Cyberabad Police registered a case against the management of Malla Reddy University and the event manager, initiating an investigation into the safety protocols and arrangements at the promotional gathering. This incident casts a shadow over the film's pre-release buzz, emphasizing the critical importance of crowd management and safety measures at large-scale public events.
