Mohanlal Announces Next Project 'Operation Ganga' Based on 2022 Ukraine Evacuation Mission
Malayalam film icon Mohanlal has officially announced his next feature film, titled "Operation Ganga," directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vishnu Mohan. The project, earlier referred to under the working title L367, is an action-driven drama inspired by the Indian government's real-life 2022 humanitarian mission that successfully evacuated over 20,000 Indian nationals and students stranded in war-torn Ukraine.
Produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the Sree Gokulam Movies banner, the film features an impressive ensemble cast that includes Bollywood actors Arjun Rampal and Adil Hussain, alongside Bhagyashri Borse and R. Parthiban. The technical crew boasts cinematographer Miroslaw Kuba Brozek of "Pushpa" fame and music composer Shashwat Sachdev. Filming has already commenced in Georgia, with subsequent schedules planned across Poland, Kazakhstan, New Delhi, Dehradun, and Kochi.
The announcement has generated significant buzz across the Indian film industry, as it highlights a prominent chapter in recent diplomatic history. By combining geopolitical tension with human drama, "Operation Ganga" aims to offer audiences a cinematic perspective on the courage and logistical challenges involved in bringing stranded citizens safely back home.
