NLMC Board Recommends Surplus Land and Building Asset Monetisation Proposals Worth Over ₹5,000 Crore
During its 21st Board of Directors meeting held on September 18, 2026, the National Land Monetization Corporation Limited (NLMC) approved and recommended major asset monetisation proposals valued at over ₹5,000 crore. Operating under the Department of Public Enterprises within the Ministry of Finance, NLMC is mandated with identifying, valuing, and monetising non-core, surplus land and building assets owned by Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and other government agencies.
The Board reviewed the financial performance, ongoing transactions, and institutional frameworks created to ensure transparent and competitive value realization. By unlocking idle capital locked in underutilised government real estate, NLMC aims to generate substantial non-tax revenues for the Union Government while fostering economic efficiency and private sector participation in infrastructure development. Additionally, the Board approved the Annual Financial Statements and Directors' Report for the financial year 2025–26, while emphasizing the need for streamlined inter-ministerial coordination and expedited due diligence to meet national asset monetisation targets.
