Parineeti Chopra Addresses Changing Industry Dynamics for Working Mothers at 'Shaque' Trailer Launch
Actress Parineeti Chopra marked her formal transition to digital streaming as Netflix unveiled the official trailer for her debut web series, 'Shaque: Trust No One', at a media event in Mumbai on Thursday, September 10, 2026. Directed by Rensil D'Silva and created alongside Siddharth P. Malhotra, the mystery thriller stars Parineeti as Anita, a grieving mother who embarks on a relentless nine-year search to track down her missing infant daughter after receiving cryptic clues.
Speaking to journalists during the trailer preview, Parineeti reflected on returning to full-time acting following the birth of her son in late 2025. She expressed appreciation for the evolving mindset among contemporary filmmakers and audiences in Indian cinema, emphasizing that female actors are no longer sidelined or stereotyped after becoming mothers. Citing fellow industry colleagues such as Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra, she noted that the modern entertainment industry actively supports working mothers pursuing lead roles without career disruption.
The mystery thriller features a prominent ensemble cast including Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jennifer Winget, Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, and Sumeet Vyas. Produced under the Alchemy Filmz banner, 'Shaque: Trust No One' is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix on September 24, 2026. Industry observers consider the project a significant release for high-concept, female-led mystery thrillers on Indian OTT platforms.
