Raksha Rajya Mantri Addresses 43rd Indian Coast Guard Commanders' Conference in New Delhi
Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth addressed senior leadership at the opening of the 43rd Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Commanders' Conference at Coast Guard Headquarters in New Delhi. The high-level three-day annual conference brings together senior commanders from across the country to review operational readiness, force modernization, coastal security, and administrative priorities.
Interacting with Director General Paramesh Sivamani and regional commanders, Shri Seth lauded the Coast Guard for its role as the primary responder during maritime distress and search-and-rescue operations. He emphasized that the changing character of global warfare necessitates the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, including networks, sensors, artificial intelligence, cyber capabilities, and autonomous systems.
Emphasizing self-reliance under the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' vision, the Minister called upon the Coast Guard to move beyond being technology consumers to becoming co-creators by partnering with domestic start-ups, defence industries, and research institutions like DRDO. The conference also reviewed ongoing indigenization efforts aligned with the national maritime strategy, aiming to ensure a future-ready maritime force.
