Sleeper Hit 'Hanuman Ansh' Set for Global Release Following ₹100 Crore Box Office Milestone
The Hindi devotional drama 'Hanuman Ansh', based on the life and teachings of spiritual leader Neem Karoli Baba, has achieved a massive box office milestone by crossing ₹100 crore in net domestic earnings, emerging as one of the biggest sleeper hits of 2026. Produced on a modest budget reported to be around ₹2 crore, the film experienced an extraordinary commercial turnaround driven primarily by positive word-of-mouth recommendations following a quiet theatrical start.
Capitalizing on its box office run, leading South Indian film banner Hombale Films announced that its overseas wing, Hombale Overseas, will handle the international theatrical distribution of 'Hanuman Ansh'. The film is scheduled to hit overseas theatres across global markets on September 11, 2026. Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the narrative traces the life of Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known as Maharaj-ji, whose spiritual message of love and service attracted devotees worldwide during the 1960s and 1970s.
The film stars Shobhinaw Satyaa in the lead role alongside Chandan Anand. Industry analysts noted that the movie's profitability ratio—earning over fifty times its production budget—outperformed several mainstream big-budget releases during the same period. Hombale Films' decision to back the film's global rollout highlights the growing international footprint of Indian spiritual cinema and marks a rare strategic alliance between a South Indian production giant and a Hindi sleeper hit.
