TCS Unit HyperVault to Invest ₹70,000 Crore in 1GW AI Data Center Campus in Hyderabad
In a major boost to India's artificial intelligence infrastructure, HyperVault, a data center subsidiary of IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), announced plans to build a 1-gigawatt (GW) AI data center campus in Hyderabad, Telangana. The project, involving an estimated investment of up to ₹70,000 crore ($7.41 billion) by HyperVault and its partners, will be spread across 264 acres of secured land.
The purpose-built campus is designed to cater specifically to frontier AI companies and global hyperscalers. It will support high-density, direct-to-chip liquid-cooled computing workloads critical for training and running large artificial intelligence models. Executed in phased developments based on market demand, the facility is slated to become one of the largest and most advanced AI infrastructure projects in India upon full completion.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy termed the agreement "historic," emphasizing that hosting large-scale compute infrastructure positions Hyderabad at the forefront of the global AI revolution. The project is expected to generate approximately 7,000 direct and indirect jobs while driving technological growth across adjacent sectors like power, cooling technology, networking, and precision engineering. Furthermore, the development will adhere to green energy integration and water-neutral design standards to promote sustainable operations.
