Jitendra Singh opens Army medical camp in Kishtwar; about 3,000 people turn up by midday
The Northern Army camp brings doctors to remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir where healthcare is hard to reach.
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated a medical camp organised by the Northern Army in Kishtwar on Sunday to bring healthcare to people living in remote and hard-to-reach areas.
He said such camps are held where poor connectivity and a shortage of medical staff make healthcare difficult to access, and that similar camps have been organised earlier in Basantgarh, Dudu and other areas.
Dr. Singh praised the Army's peacetime role in regions affected by terrorism and violence, and said around 3,000 people attended the camp in its first half-day.
