President Murmu joins Haryana's 60th formation year 'Hirak Jayanti' celebration at Kurukshetra
She praised Haryana's progress in women's empowerment and sports, noting 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' was launched from Panipat in 2015.
President Droupadi Murmu attended the 'Hirak Jayanti' celebration marking the 60th year of the formation of Haryana at Kurukshetra on November 1.
Congratulating the people of the state, she said Haryana has contributed to the freedom struggle, social change, democracy, literature and science, and noted its progress in women's empowerment over the last decade.
The President said the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign, launched from Panipat in January 2015, has been a highly significant initiative, and welcomed the improvement in the sex ratio at birth in 2025 compared with 2014. She also praised Haryana's athletes, especially its daughters, for their success in international championships.
